Day One

A record twenty-seven S80 yachts entered the Sail Melbourne S 80 State Championships, which are being held at the Blairgowrie Yacht Squadron at the Toorak end of the Port Philip Bay.

Race one was held in a gentle 10 knots of breeze from the south with the yacht The Law Firm crossing the finishing line skippered John Hall followed by Intrusion and Runamuck. The Law Firm completed the race in sixty-three minutes and the last boat, Revolution, taking seventy-six minutes.
