Event Profile

OK National and Interdominion Championship

The OK Dinghy class name is derived from the initials of it's designer, Mr Knud Olsen of Denmark, where the class origins date back to 1957. The OK Dinghy is a 4m long single hander which is seen my many as a smaller version of the Olympic Finn class. The class has a long history at Black Rock Yacht Club with many club members performing well at these championships and moving on to the Worlds where Australia has taken the title five times.

In the usual cross Tasman rivalry the top New Zealanders are expected and the event will provide an excellent opportunity to weigh up the opposition in the lead up to the 2008 World Championships in Germany in July.
