OAMPS Insurance Brokers Australian Youth Championship

This is the event for Australia’s youth sailors, with selection made for the team to represent Australia at the 2008 Volvo Youth Sailing ISAF World Championships. The Youth classes included in the event are the 29er, Hobie 16, Laser Standard, Laser Radial, Laser 4.7, 420 and sailboard. This event is where many of Australia’s Sailing Team made their mark and caught the eye of selectors.
 
Incorporated in this event will be the AIODA Australian International Optimist Championship. There will a green fleet for those less experienced sailors and it’s a great event for sailors to have their first experience in a large fleet.
 
For the more experienced sailors the first five placed Australians will earn the opportunity to represent Australia at the 2008 International Optimist World Championships to be held in Turkey in July 2008.
 
AIODA will once again use this regatta to select the Australian Optimist Sailing Team, members of which go through a Yachting Australia endorsed coaching squad that competes at Adelaide International Regatta, New Zealand and Singapore Nationals and invaluable experience.
