Mercedes Benz Couta Boat Australian Championships

The Couta Boat Portsea Cup at the Sorrento Sailing Couta Boat Club is a real spectacle event for both sailors and the public alike as the largest collection of historic, one-design sailing craft anywhere in the world congregate for fun and racing on the water. Starting with a ‘raft up’ alongside the Portsea Peir and then conducting a number of short races just off from the cliffs and coastline of the area, the event allows the public to watch all the historic action right from the shore. Up to 70 boats annually compete in the event and interest is always welcome from anyone keen to be involved.
