The 49er grew from the 18ft skiffs regularly sailed in Sydney Harbour. Many of the principal features are relatively new to the sailing world. The 49er is a double handed, twin trapeze boat for men, with an asymmetric spinnaker, exciting to sail and spectacular to watch.
